Hoima City Mayor Adyeeri Brian Kaboyo has vowed to deal with whoever plans to foil plans of Hoima getting a Foot Ball stadium. Hoima District is earmarked for a football stadium following CAF awarding PAMOJA (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania) bid as the host for the 36th AFCON in 2027. Part of the reason for winning this bid was a presented plan to build a stadium in Hoima District owing to its location in the Albertine Graben but also being one of the districts with the highest football fan base in Uganda. Rumors had started doing rounds that a group of mafias was plotting to hijack this opportunity from Hoima District. The Lord Mayor has vowed to fight all the way to ensure this dream comes true. Already, Rujumba Family has offered 10 acres of land towards fulfillment of this objective.
