Suspended Rubaga division Deputy Resident City Commissioner Herbert Anderson Burora has launched scathing criticism against members of parliament, accusing them of turning a blind eye to the misuse of public funds within their ranks. Burora warned that this indifference could spark public outrage and potentially lead to violence.
Highlighting the perceived hypocrisy of parliamentarians, Burora pointed out that they had swiftly impeached Hon Namuganza over personal disputes with the speaker, yet remained silent on the allegations of financial impropriety circulating among themselves.
Expressing concern over the potential consequences of inaction, Burora questioned why parliamentarians would wait for public intervention when addressing the issue promptly could prevent further harm to the nation.
In a tweet, Burora condemned the silence of parliamentarians while the public grappled with serious allegations involving the speaker. He announced plans to hold a press conference on March 19, 2024, to disclose his next course of action.
These developments coincide with the Speaker of Parliament’s decision to convene a special session to address the escalating social media reports regarding the misappropriation of public funds within parliament.
Burora’s outspoken stance comes shortly after his suspension from duty, which he alleges stems from Speaker Anita Among’s clandestine actions.
