President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Balam Barugahara as the State Minister for Gender, Labour & Social Development (Youths and Children). The announcement has sparked celebrations across Bunyoro, as congratulatory messages pour in for Balam.
Hailing from Masindi, Balam, affectionately known as Sabavulu, rose to prominence as a music promoter before making his mark in the political arena. His close friendship with President Museveni’s son, Muhoozi Kaneirugaba, played a pivotal role in his ascent to power. Notably, Balam was instrumental in the establishment of the Muhoozi Army, PLU, and various other promotional initiatives championed by Muhoozi.
Moreover, Balam has been actively involved in spearheading key developmental projects within the Bunyoro subregion, further endearing him to the local populace.
